about

All tracks by Francesca Marongiu.

Recorded by Francesca Marongiu in summer 2012. Mixed by Francesca Marongiu e Antonio Gallucci.

Mastered by James Plotkin.

Haunting presences: Antonio Gallucci (drums on track I and VI, guitar on track V and synth at the end of track II) and Reto Mäder (piano and guitar on track VI).

Artwork by Rainbath Visual.

From the theatre of archetypes, Agarttha is a journey into the dreams of a gypsy moth whom powder ferries the listener into the twists and turns of the unconscious among remote architecture and echoes of warmth and light.

Agarttha is the solo project of Francesca Marongiu, already in Architeuthis Rex along with Antonio Gallucci.

"A Water Which Does Not Wet Hands" is inspired by the namesake book of Sendivogius, a Polish pioneer in alchemical studies and explores Jungian archetypes, in particular the apocalyptic dreams and premonitions of the daughter of a Jung friend, a 8-year-old child who dreamed for awhile about death symbols and drew them in a small book before dying of an improvise and fatal illness.
